Reaching Antarctica with our modular warehouse

Jan 29, 2019

This modular warehouse was built in the unique Antarctica. We are expanding our international presence by supplying our products around the world.

The prefabricated modular warehouse has been constructed in the Spanish Base of Gabriel de Castilla and carried out by the Antarctic Spanish Force.

Using Gaptek’s assembly technology, the modular warehouse was shipped and constructed at the Antarctic Spanish Base. It was previously discomposed in pre-engineered pieces in order to fit in a 20-ft. standard container. This modular warehouse can be constructed by any military staff who has previously received the required training by Gaptek technicians and following the construction plans provided.

Gaptek’s modular warehouse is an alternative to shipping container buildings. Through their distinctive adaptation to different environments thanks to the aluminum structure, Gaptek buildings are resistant to corrosion and extreme weather.

The modular warehouse has the particularity of being totally mountable, dismountable and relocatable to the desired location. This provides a minimization of the environmental impact by respecting all current legal requirements of the Antarctic Treaty.

Moreover, the modular warehouse can support the snow loads of the area and it is equipped with high-insulation technology. And therefore, a greater energy efficiency is acheived through the use of sustainable resources.

To conclude, the modular warehouse is relocatable, maintaining its initial properties, with a perfect adaptation to environmental needs through telescopic columns pads adjusted in height.
