Last March, 15 aircraft shelters, 3 multifunctional warehouses, and an office building, all deployable, were delivered to the Spanish Air and Space Force at the San Javier Air Base.

The introduction of the new Pilatus PC-21 aircraft from the Swiss company Pilatus Aircraft, along with the intense pilot training activities carried out by the Spanish Air Force Academy, has necessitated a renovation of the base. This includes the construction of both permanent and semi-permanent infrastructures that can be relocated to other sites if needed.

Gaptek was selected by NSPA’s competitive bidding system to supply and assemble:

• 15 modular and dismantlable aircraft shelters, each with an approximate area of 425 m²
• 3 modular multifunctional warehouses, also semi-permanent and dismantlable, each with an approximate area of 693 m²
• 1 modular semi-permanent, dismantlable, and relocatable office building with an approximate area of 296 m

With this project, Gaptek also establishes itself in the semi-permanent building sector, offering solutions that meet the stringent requirements set for the infrastructures at the San Javier Air Base.

These types of semi-permanent and relocatable infrastructures are highly sought after in the NATO environment due to the constant evolution of new weapons systems, which require new infrastructures and a high degree of flexibility both in their operation and in their ability to be deployed to other locations.
