Inauguration of Wide-Body Hangar for Fokker Services Group
We completed the hangar for Fokker Services Group.
As part of the Fokker Services Group’s expansion plan, a new wide-body hangar has been constructed by GAPTEK in Woensdrecht, the Netherlands.
The construction on site began in October 2022 and was completed at the end of May 2023. It consists of a 87-meters long, 86-meters wide, and 27-meters high construction.
We are very pleased to share the final result:

The new wide-body hangar is equipped with floor heating and cooling systems powered by electricity. To allow the material transport and maintenance operations on aircrafts throughout the hangar, one overhead crane suspended from the main structure is provided. The equipment consists of a single girder in the whole operational width, moving along six suspended runway beams, with a lifting capacity of 7.5 tons.
The main door is a multiple-leaf fabric one with 5 sections and 4 swing up mullion made of translucent fabric and allowing to open the totally wide of the access or only specific parts.
The hangar has the capacity to accommodate aircraft such as Airbus A330, Airbus A350 and Boeing 777.
In a second phase photovoltaic solar panels will be installed on the rooftop, reducing the dependency of the Hangar on external energy sources.
For both Fokker Services Group and GAPTEK, sustainability is very important. GAPTEK’s patented lightweight system makes a positive contribution to the envionment, as it significantly reduces CO2 emissions during the construction process compared to traditional constructions.
